This week, my story comes from a vector class in grade 4B. I had finished the introduction class and I asked my students to sit and try to draw and design different things from their imagination.Before I made my way around the classroom, a 4th grade student named Emmanuel had already drawn a very big and beautiful house with different colors which attracted every student in his class room.I was very impressed since he was the first student to finish drawing and he also had the best drawing in his class, so I asked his classmates to clap for him.Maxwell Kiplagat, a student in the same class, really felt challenged and he called Emmanuel's name and told him that in the next computer class he will be the best since he will go and figure out what he will draw in the next lesson.I felt very happy that the success of one student makes the rest of the class want to be the best. This is very encouraging as Emmanuel is building a key competency in DreamsHills’ curriculum, called 3D drawing.

Today I decided to introduce tux math to my students at Dreams Hill School.I taught them how to click on the number&nbsp;when solving the math question and also the uses of a space back which acts as an equal sine.Peter, a grade 2G student today, made me very excited. After I had finished the introduction to solving math questions without the use of books&nbsp;he had already known what I had taught.Whenever&nbsp;Peter finished any level in tux math&nbsp;he could dance very proudly with the doll which made all the students get attracted to his work and he ended up being the student teacher.I considered Peter as the champion of the class when he asked for permission to help&nbsp;the other students in his class&nbsp;in solving various math questions.The teachers who were in the computer room were very excited about how the students have solved the math questions without the use&nbsp;of books since they are still young students.Some of the teachers also said that most students in grade two have been having a very bad attitude towards their math lessons but the computer lesson has now been a turning point for them…. I was very happy when I had that good comment.

Specialist Educator

Video production is one of the specialties in TechLit Africa. Most of the students love video production. In video production, we use an application called OpenShot, which is easy for students to understand.During my visit to Dreams Hills school this week, I came across Faith. She was my co-teacher last term at video production class. She was excited to see me. Their class was to follow next.In the OpenShot class, Faith knew how to cut the video using Control-X and knew how to use transitions without me showing her.Faith told me that during her break from school, with the help of her parents, she installed the OpenShot app on their desktop. She told me that she spent her break learning from YouTube tutorials.

<h2>Improving Inkscape Classes</h2>To make my Inkscape classes better, I've been giving kids options on what they can design. As I was doing intro at Dreams Hills Academy, I gave several options, one of them being a house.<h2>Joyline from Dreams Hills Primary</h2>There was a grade 2 student Joyline. From the very 1st minute, of their class after I had done the intro, she was trying and struggling to make a house. She kept asking me questions. "How can I make a house?" "How can I paint different parts with different colors?"<h2>Enabling Creativity</h2>I showed Joyline how to use the fill bucket, which most kids found too difficult. At first,she make a sketch of a flower. As she was drawing, it seems she got another idea about how to make her work nice. She deleted everything and designed a house and it's surrounding.

<h2>Confidence at The Computer</h2>Emmanuel, a class 5-Green student, is familiar with the game SuperTux 2. He asked me if he can help me teach other students how to use the arrow keys when playing the game.<h2>Teacher Emmanuel</h2>I had to let him teach other students in his class since they are free to talk to each other without shying off. Emmanuel ended up being the teacher for the day!
